Festivals & Event Lighting, Sound and Projection

Creative‑technical delivery for light festivals, town‑centre events and public‑realm experiences.

Blackbeam Cinematic creates experiential event lighting, projection and sound for festivals, events and public‑realm environments. We transform spaces into atmospheric, story‑driven worlds — from Glastonbury Festival’s Park area to Film Festivals across the UK, City Center Public Holidays, light festivals like We Shine – Portsmouth, MAKE/Mayfest and Bristol Light Festival — crafting experiences that draw people in, shape journeys and bring places to life after dark.

Festivals shift dramatically from day to night, and Blackbeam specialises in shaping that transformation. Through experiential lighting, projection mapping and immersive sound, we turn open spaces into vibrant night‑time environments — places filled with colour, atmosphere and discovery. Our work invites audiences to explore, gather and experience the festival in a completely new dimension after dark.

event Lighting, sound and projection systems built for outdoor events

We handle system installs and equipment hire for projection, sound and lighting using kit that’s proven to behave well in multiple environments. Our Panasonic projectors, Nexo audio and Pro Lighting fixtures are part of a stock we know inside out, so we can specify, prep and deploy them quickly on site. Everything is chosen for reliability in open fields, town centres and exposed locations where weather, access and tight schedules matter. Blackbeam also supplies covered stages that drop cleanly into pop‑ups, roadshows and smaller festivals needing a solid acoustic stage with a tidy footprint and straightforward get‑in/get‑out.

Lighting the Glastonbury‑on‑Sea Pier

For the past four years, Blackbeam has been the creative‑technical team responsible for lighting the Glastonbury‑on‑Sea pier — the festival’s iconic, seaside peer installation by Joe Rush perched above the Somerset Levels.
What began as a playful scenic build has evolved into a signature night‑time landmark, and Blackbeam’s lighting has been central to defining its atmosphere, identity, and visibility across the site.

Stage, lighting and scenic support for town‑centre and public‑realm events

Blackbeam provides compact stages, outdoor‑ready lighting and creative scenic support for town‑centre and public‑realm events. Our focus is on shaping environments that add immersion into the moment and identity to the event.
Everything is designed for quick deployment and tidy footprints, making the setups ideal for community festivals, pop‑ups, seasonal activations and civic celebrations. Professional lighting and control adds to the magic, while scenic elements help anchor the event within its surroundings. Delivering an environment that feels welcoming, distinctive and ready for audiences.

Sound, Lighting and Technical Support Fundraisers and Community Events

We deliver design and production services that bridge creative intent with real‑world technical delivery. Our work spans concept development, spatial design, lighting and projection planning, and full on‑site production for festivals, town‑centre events and public‑realm activations. We shape environments with a clear understanding of how they will be built, powered and operated, ensuring every design choice translates cleanly into a reliable, achievable system on the ground. From early sketches to final cues, we work closely with organisers, artists and production teams to create experiences that are visually strong, technically robust and ready for outdoor conditions.

Illuminated Light Trails

We design and deliver illuminated light trails with a clear creative through‑line and the technical discipline to support it. Our background in projection, sound and spatial design means each trail is shaped as an experience, not a sequence of lit objects. We read the landscape — its routes, pauses and natural moments of drama — and build a rhythm that feels intuitive to walk.
Lighting, projection and sound are placed with intent, creating shifts in tone and atmosphere that guide people forward without ever overwhelming the site. The result is a trail that feels coherent, grounded and quietly magical, with scenes that stay with people long after they’ve left the site.
